Stories That Inspire. A Movement That Matters.

Walk the Premier League is a 1,000+ mile national challenge led by headteacher Peter Stewart, walking between every Premier League stadium to stand up for safer, stronger, opportunity-rich school communities across the UK.

The challenge has gained significant interest from media, partners, schools and communities who share the belief that primary-aged children deserve better — safer local spaces, stronger support networks and real opportunities to thrive.

This page provides everything journalists, media professionals and partners need to cover the story.

THE STORY

Walk the Premier League is a first-of-its-kind movement that blends:

  • a national physical challenge

  • a call to action for headteachers

  • community mobilisation

  • a historic world record attempt

  • the development of the North Manchester Primary Sport & Community Hub

  • A platform for localised fundraising, impacting thousands of children across the country

Peter will walk over 1,000 miles, visiting all 20 Premier League stadiums, joined along the way by families, school groups, Walk & Talk Guests, community leaders and school staff.

Each step raises awareness of the increasing pressures primary schools face — and the need for real, lasting support for children and families across the country.

This challenge goes beyond fundraising.
It gives school communities a national voice.

WHAT THE WALK SUPPORTS

There are two core impact streams:

1. The National Legacy Project

The North Manchester Primary Sport & Community Hub

Central fundraising supports a first-of-its-kind facility designed exclusively for primary-aged children.

The Hub will offer:

  • safe activity and sport spaces

  • wellbeing and nurture rooms

  • reading, digital & enrichment access

  • affordable provision for grassroots clubs

  • out-of-hours community use

  • safe spaces for families, communities and cross-generational support.

The Hub will benefit every primary-aged child across North Manchester — a region in urgent need of community infrastructure.

2. Local Impact for Schools Across the UK

Schools can raise money for their own community

Any school that joins the walk — whether for 1 mile, 3 miles or a full leg — can fundraise directly for their own pupils.

And crucially:

100% of funds raised by a school stay with that school.

Schools can use their fundraising to support:

  • wellbeing & nurture

  • grassroots sport & enrichment

  • reading, phonics & library development

  • playground and outdoor spaces

  • family and community support

  • activity programmes & clubs

This means:

  • every school that takes part benefits

  • every community can create positive change

  • the movement strengthens childhoods locally and nationally

The Hub creates a major regional legacy —
but the local fundraising model spreads impact across the entire country.
